Lady GaGa Responds to Hermaphrodite Rumor With Topless Shots
Lady GaGa has a unique way to respond to circulating rumor that she has a private man part under her outfit. Gracing the cover of Britain's , the "Poker Face" hitmaker goes topless, covering her chest with only her gloved hand, and sports a bulge, which is presumably a strap-on, in her pair of spiky black trousers. Several other shots also see the "Bad Romance" singer packing a fake bulge under her trousers.
Discussing the reason why she opted for the shots, the 23-year-old told the magazine, "We all know that one of the biggest talking points of the year was that I have a d***, so why not give them what they want?" She continued on elaborating, "I want to wear a d*** strapped to my vagina. I also carry myself onstage in a masculine way and sing in a low register. This is not out of nowhere, right? I want to comment on that in a beautiful, artistic way. How I wanna show it. And I want to call this piece Lady Gaga Dies Hard."
In the interview for the issue which is available on newsstand February 23, GaGa also talked about going against conventional pop star image. "The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself," she said. "My image was an issue at my record label. I fought for months and cried at meetings."
Speculation that Lady GaGa might be a hermaphrodite sparked after a video filmed at the U.K.'s Glastonbury festival shows a bulge under her wacky outfit. Multiple blogs then cited a supposed quotation from her as saying, "It's not something that I'm ashamed of, it just isn't something that I go around telling everyoneYes. I have both male and female genitalia, but I consider myself a female. It's just a little bit of a penis and really doesn't interfere much with my life."
